American mezzo-soprano. Born May 14, 1939, in New York, NY; died Feb 1, 1999, in Brooklyn, NY; m. Richard Kness (dramatic tenor).
Began career with the Brooklyn Opera Company (early 1960s); over 20 years, sang in nearly 300 performances with the Metropolitan Opera, making Met debut as Rosette in Manon (1963); with husband, founded Ambassadors of Opera and Concert Worldwide.
