Ehrenreich, Barbara (1941–)
American critic and essayist. Born Aug 26, 1941; attended Reed College; Rockefeller University, PhD in biology.
Social critic and essayist, was a regular columnist for Time magazine (1991–97); wrote the bestseller Nickel and Dimed (2002); often writes an op-ed column for the New York Times and is a frequent contributor to The Progressive; served as vice chair of the Democratic Socialists of America; also wrote Fear of Falling (1989), The Worst Years of Our Lives (1990), Blood Rites (1991) and The Snarling Citizen (1995).
