Julian Feldman
1920?-
American information and computer science professor who with Edward Feigenbaum (1936- ) published the first book on artificial intelligence (AI), a collection of papers entitled Computers and Thought (1963), which cataloged research and defined the young field. The book is a source of classic papers such as the 1950 paper by Alan Turing (1912-1954), "Computing Machinery and Intelligence." Feldman also published articles based on his continued AI research in connectionism, a controversial theory regarding cognitive phenomena.
