Sclerotium (order Agonomycetales) A form genus of fungi which have perfect states classified in either the Basidiomycotina or the Ascomycotina. S. cepivorum causes the disease white rot of onions; this species produces hard, resistant sclerotia which can remain in the soil for long periods of time.
