Grossulariaceae A family of shrubs that have alternate, simple, often palmately lobed leaves and regular, tetra- or pentamerous flowers in racemes, with the same number of stamens as petals. The ovary is inferior, consisting of 2 fused carpels, forming a berry in the fruit. There are 3 genera, including Ribes, and 325 species, with a cosmopolitan distribution.
