AMIRA, BINYAMIN

AMIRA, BINYAMIN (1896–1968), Israeli mathematician. Born in Mogilev-Podolsk, Russia, Amira was taken to Palestine in 1900. He founded the Institute of Mathematics at the Hebrew University, Jerusalem. He also founded the Journal d'analyse mathématique, which appeared in 17 volumes from 1955 to 1966.
