Shri Chinmoy Centre
Shri Chinmoy Centre. Founded by Shri Chinmoy Kumar Ghose (b. 1931), a Hindu guru from Bengal who arrived in the USA in 1964 to teach his ‘path of the heart’ towards union with God. Appointed Director of the United Nations Meditation Group in 1970, Shri Chinmoy's New York Center (the main one of many that now exist in the West) received accreditation as a non-governmental organization in 1975.
