Sanron-shū. ‘Three treatises’ (Jap.) of Sanlun, brought to Japan by the Korean monk Ekwan in 625. From his followers derived Jōjitsu. Sanron was not an independently organized school, but its teachings, mediating Mādhyamaka and Nāgārjuna, were much studied.
