Isshi-injo
Isshi-injo (Jap., ‘one vehicle’). The Zen insistence that a student can be taught (up to the level of the conferring of inka-shōmei) by one master (roshi) only. This is emphasized (especially in Sōtō-shū) to stop students going from one teacher to another.
