John Hervey Hervey of Ickworth, Baron (här´vē, hûr´vē), 1696–1743, English memoirist. A temperamental figure who served in various minor offices under Robert Walpole, he is chiefly remembered for his Memoirs of the Reign of George II, which provide an excellent source for the politics and intrigue of the court of George II.
