Nottingham, Thomas Mowbray, 2nd earl of
Nottingham, Thomas Mowbray, 2nd earl of (1385–1405). Mowbray's father was created duke of Norfolk in 1397 by Richard II but the grant was annulled by Henry IV's first Parliament. A minor when his father died in 1399, Mowbray seems to have inherited his father's hatred of Henry IV. In 1405 he joined Archbishop Scrope in rebellion and shared his fate.
