Small quantity generator

Small quantity generators (SQGs) are facilities that do not generate more than 2,205 lb (1,000 kg) of regulated hazardous waste or more than 2.2 lb (1 kg) of acute hazardous waste in a calendar month, or do not store more than 13,228 lb (6,000 kg) of hazardous waste in any 180 day period. If the facility has to transport the waste for more than 200 mi (322 km) to dispose of it, then the period that waste can be stored may be increased to 270 days, without the operator of the site losing the small quantity generator designation. If a site generates 220 lb (100 kg) or less of hazardous waste in a calendar year, then the site is designated as a conditionally exempt small quantity generator or (CESQG).
