Hutton, Sir Len
Hutton, Sir Len ( Leonard) (1916–90) English cricketer. An opening batsman for Yorkshire, he was the first professional captain of England (1953). Hutton captained England for 23 of his 79 test matches (1937–55), scoring 6971 test runs. In 1938 he scored 364 against Australia, a world record until Gary Sobers' innings of 365 not out in 1958.
