Distance Learning Program

TUI offers high-quality education utilizing online Internet instruction as its primary means of delivery. There is no residency requirement. The student-centered teaching model has two major elements: modular case-based learning and the cyber classroom. These essential elements are part of every module of every course.

Delivery Media

The cyber classroom approach includes the use of multimedia for academic transactions and interactive collaboration (live exchange with professors and peers). The multimedia approach includes audio and video on demand, Internet links, PowerPoint presentations, and live conferences among students and between professors and students. This allows students to work as a team with fellow students from around the world. Case-based learning provides real-world application to each topic.

Program of Study

TUI consists of the College of Business Administration, the College of Education, the College of Health Sciences, and the College of Information Systems. The College of Business Administration offers three degree programs: the Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (124 semester credits), with concentrations in criminal justice, e-commerce, finance, general management, information technology management, and degree completion specially designed for students with an A.A. or A.S. degree; the Master of Science in Business Administration (32 semester credits for students with business-related undergraduate degrees), with concentrations in conflict and negotiations management, criminal justice, e-commerce, finance, general management, human resource management, international business, information technology, logistics management, and public management; and the Doctor of Philosophy in Business Administration (44 semester credits of course work plus a research dissertation). The concentration depends on the candidate's specific research interests.

Touro University International (TUI), located in southern California, is a branch campus of Touro College, New York, which is accredited by the Commission on Higher Education of the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools.

TUI offers affordable degree programs on the Internet, using the latest technology and innovative live interactive delivery methodology.

TUI is committed to sustaining the high quality of its pedagogical model, its faculty, and its support services. A worldwide university operating 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, TUI offers students an excellent learning experience accessed from their own homes, while allowing them to maintain their work and family responsibilities.

Student Services

Touro University International maintains five specific student services. Preadmission advisement assists students with enrollment procedures and any other student concerns. Preadmission English competency evaluation is provided for students whose first language is not English, who do not meet TUI's English competency requirements, or who feel that they do not possess adequate English skills. Postad-mission advisement assists students with course selection and sequencing, developing good study habits, and other student concerns. Information technology assistance is provided to ensure that students have access to all information technology features of TUI courses. The Information Technology department also assists students with installation and configuration. Library resource assistance is provided via e-mail in the use of all cyber library holdings.

TUI provides financial assistance under three federal programs that are available to citizens and eligible noncitizens of the United States.

Faculty

All TUI faculty members hold doctoral degrees and have experience in their respective fields in addition to having sound academic teaching, research, and dissertation advisement records. Exceptional full-time faculty members teach nearly all TUI classes. The highest level of faculty expertise in each field is also available through guest lecturers and visiting faculty members via the cyber classroom delivery mode.

Admission

TUI offers four sessions per year, beginning in March, June, September, and January, with each session lasting twelve weeks. All TUI courses are valued at 4 semester credits. A full-time load is two courses per session, whereby students can earn 32 semester credits per year while continuing with family and work responsibilities.

The Office of Admissions assists potential students in determining their compatibility with the program based on past academic performance and educational goals. For specific details about each degree program, students may visit the Web site at the Internet address listed below.

TUI's tuition is one of the most affordable in the nation. Tuition is $250 per semester credit for B.S.-level courses, $300 per semester credit for M.S.-level courses, and $500 per semester credit for Ph.D.-level courses.
