Touront, Johannes
Touront, Johannes, significant composer who flourished from about 1450 to 1480. He was active in Bohemia. Touront excelled as a composer of sacred music, his Mass Ordinaries being particularly outstanding. Some of his works are found in Denkmäler der Tonkunst in Österreich, XIV-XV, Jg. VII/1-2 (1900) and in L. Gottlieb,The Cyclic Masses of Trent Codex 89 (diss., Univ. of Calif., Berkeley, 1958).
