Tours, Frank E(dward)
Tours, Frank E(dward), English-American composer, son of Berthold Tours; b. London, Sept. 1, 1877; d. Santa Monica, Calif., Feb. 2, 1963. He studied with Stanford, Parratt, and Bridge at the Royal Coll. of Music in London, then went to N.Y. in 1904 and conducted light opera productions. Later he entered the motion picture field. He wrote many successful songs, among them Mother o’ Mine, Beyond the Sunset, Red Rose, and In Flanders Fields.
