Kress Conservation Fellowships (Graduate/Fellowship)
Purpose: To encourage qualified individuals to prepare for careers as conservators in museums of art. Focus: Art conservation. Qualif.: Applicant must be an individual who has completed an M.A degree in art conservation; must be a U.S citizen. Criteria: Selection of applicant will be based on the fellowship criteria.
Funds Avail.: $25,000 as a fellowship stipend, and $5,000 toward administrative costs. To Apply: Application must be made by the museum or conservation research facility at which the internship will be based. Applicant must have a brief description of the internship, curriculum vitae of the individual nominated; must have three letters of recommendation. Deadline: March 1.
Kress Curatorial Fellowships (Doctorate/Fellowship)
Purpose: To encourage qualified individuals to prepare for careers as curators in museums of art. Focus: European studies. Qualif.: Applicant must be an individual who has completed a Ph.D. in the history of European art. Criteria: Selection of applicant will be based on the fellowship criteria.
Funds Avail.: $25,000 as a fellowship stipend, and $5,000 toward administrative costs, benefits for the Fellow, and other direct costs of the Fellowship. To Apply: Application must be made at which the fellowship will be based. Applicant must have a brief description of the internship, curriculum vitae of the individual nominated; must have three letters of recommendation. Deadline: January 5.
Kress Fellowships in Art History at Foreign Institutions (Doctorate/Fellowship)
Purpose: To permit promising art historians to complete the final phases of dissertation research. Focus: European studies. Qualif.: Applicant must be a pre-doctoral candidate in the history of art; must be a U.S. citizen or individual matriculated at an American university. Criteria: Selection of applicant will be based on the fellowship criteria.
Funds Avail.: $22,500. To Apply: Application forms are available online and candidates must be nominated by the art history department. Application form and other relevant documents must be sent to: Samuel H. Kress Foundation, 174 E 80th St., New York, NY 10021. Deadline: November 30.
Kress Travel Fellowships in the History of Art (Doctorate/Fellowship)
Purpose: To permit promising art historians to complete the final phases of dissertation research. Focus: European
studies. Qualif.: Applicant must be a predoctoral candidates in the history of art; must be a U.S citizens or individuals matriculated at an American university. Criteria: Selection of applicant will be based on the fellowship criteria.
