Description:

State and locally supported, 2-year, coed. Awards certificates, transfer associate, and terminal associate degrees. Founded 1966. Setting: 187-acre suburban campus. Total enrollment: 10,634. Student-undergrad faculty ratio is 26:1. Full-time: 3,959 students, 50% women, 50% men. Part-time: 6,675 students, 55% women, 45% men. Students come from 3 states and territories, 46 other countries, 1% from out-of-state, 1% Native American, 3% Hispanic, 9% black, 1% Asian American or Pacific Islander, 1% international, 50% 25 or older. Core. Calendar: semesters. Academic remediation for entering students, ESL program, services for LD students, advanced placement, self-designed majors, honors program, independent study, distance learning, summer session for credit, part-time degree program, co-op programs and internships.
