Oesterlen, Dieter
Oesterlen, Dieter (1911– ). German architect. Some of his work is powerfully monumental and jagged, such as at the German Military Cemetery, Passo della Futa, near Florence (1961–7). Other designs include the Filmstudio Cinema, Hanover (1951–3), Christ Church, Bochum (1957–9), the Twelve Apostles Church, Hildesheim (1964–7), the Bischof Stahlin Geriatric Centre, Oldenburg (1974–5), the Post Office Headquarters, Bremen (1979–95), the German Embassy, Buenos Aires, Argentina (1980–3), and the Elia Church Community Centre, Langenhagen, near Hanover (1987–8).
