sandwich therapy (sand-wich) n. a combination of treatments in which one type of therapy (e.g. a surgical operation) is ‘sandwiched’ between exposures to another treatment (e.g. pre- and postoperative radiotherapy). See also chemoradiotherapy, combined therapy.
