Riedel's struma
Riedel's struma (reed-ĕlz) n. a rare fibrosing destructive disorder of the thyroid gland that may spread to adjacent tissues and obstruct the airway. It is sometimes associated with fibrosis in other parts of the body, such as the bile duct or retroperitoneal fibrosis. [ B. M. C. L. Riedel (1846–1916), German surgeon]
