"My writing process involves research, gathering information, building a table of contents (organization of thoughts), more research, writing of text, one chapter at a time, discussing with others, having coworkers review, working with editors and the publishing company (ongoing), and finalizing the work and the final edits.
"What inspired me to write on the subjects I have chosen are a desire to write and share knowledge, a need for these particular works in the field of school library media, and expertise in the areas."
Riedling later added: "International initiatives are of vital importance to me. My writing often reflects this, as I have had the opportunity to work in eleven different countries."
