KOFORD, Kenneth J. 1948-2004

OBITUARY NOTICE— See index for CA sketch: Born December 30, 1948, in Hollywood, CA; died of cancer October 25, 2004. Koford was an economics professor at the University of Delaware. Completing his undergraduate work at Yale University in 1970, he went on to earn a doctorate at the University of California at Los Angeles in 1977. He joined the University of Delaware faculty in 1979 as an assistant professor, founding and directing the legal studies program beginning in 2000. At Delaware he rose to full professor of economics and political science in 1994 and became a professor of legal studies in 1997. From 1990 until 1996, Koford was also the director of the U.S. Aid program in Bulgaria, where he was a Fullbright lecturer at the University of Sofia in 1997; that university awarded him an honorary doctorate in 2001 for his contributions. The editor of the Eastern Economics Journal, beginning in 1999, Koford was coeditor two books: Keynes' Economic Legacy: Contemporary Macro-Economic Theories (1988) and Social Norms and Economic Institutions (1991).
