Serini, Giovanni Battista
Serini, Giovanni Battista, Italian teacher and composer; b. Cremona, c. 1724; d. place and date unknown. He studied with Galuppi, then was Kapellmeister at the court of Count Wilhelm zu Schaumberg-Lippe in Buckeburg; may have also been in the service of Robert d’Arcy, fourth Earl of Holdernesse (Yorkshire). Among his extant works are sinfonies, 6 harpsichord concertos, 6 sonatas for Flute and Basso Continuo, 3 harpsichord sonatas, and vocal pieces.
