Rovelli, Pietro , Italian violinist and composer; b. Bergamo, Feb. 6, 1793; d. there, Sept. 8, 1838. He studied with R. Kreutzer, then played in Italy. He was concertmaster of the Court Orch. in Munich (1815–19), after which he taught and conducted in Bergamo. He publ. excellent études and caprices for Violin as well as Variazioni for Violin and Orch.
