Orlowski, Antoni
Orlowski, Antoni, Polish violinist, pianist, conductor, and composer; b. Warsaw, 1811; d. Rouen, Feb. 11, 1861. He studied with Bielawski (violin), Detroit and Ernemann (piano), Lenz (organ), and Eisner (composition) in Warsaw (1824–29) before completing his training with Le Sueur in Paris. From 1835 he was active as a conductor in Rouen. He wrote two operettas, a ballet, chamber music, and piano pieces.
