Grimm, Julius Otto
Grimm, Julius OttO, German conductor and composer; Pernau, Latvia, March 6, 1827; d. Munster, Dec. 7, 1903. He studied philosophy at the Univ. of Dorpat and was a pupil of Moscheles and Hauptmann in Leipzig, where he was befriended by Brahms and Joachim. In 1860 he became conductor in Munster. He wrote a Sym. (1874), Suite for String Orch., song cycles, and piano pieces.
