Felumb, Svend Christian
Felumb, Svend Christian, Danish oboist and conductor; b. Copenhagen, Dec. 25, 1898; d. there, Dec. 16, 1972. He studied in Copenhagen with L. Nielsen and Bruce, and in Paris with Blenzel and Vidal. From 1924 until 1947 he was an oboist in the Danish Royal Orch. in Copenhagen. From 1947 to 1962 he conducted the Tivoli Orch. in Copenhagen. He was the founder of the Ny Musik soc. in Copenhagen and a leader of the movement for modern national Danish music.
