DeFabritiis, Oliviero (Carlo)
DeFabritiis, Oliviero (Carlo) , Italian conductor; b. Rome, June 13, 1902; d. there, Aug. 12, 1982. He studied with Setaccioli and Refice. He made his conducting debut at the Teatro Adriano in Rome in 1920, and subsequently was a conductor at the Rome opéra (1934–61). He made numerous guest appearances with major European opéra houses, and also conducted in the U.S.
