Brons, Carel

Brons, Carel, Dutch composer; b. Groningen, Jan. 1, 1931; d. Hilversum, May 16, 1983. He studied piano with Luctor Ponse, organ with Cor Batenburg, and theory with Johan Vetter (1949–55). He worked for Radio Holland (1954–72), and from 1958 also was music director of the Hilversum Radio. He adopted versatile idioms in his compositions, making occasional use of serial methods.
