Bertin de la Doué, Thomas

Bertin de la Doué, Thomas, French composer; b. Paris, c. 1680; d. there, 1745. He was maître de musique to the Princess of Orléans, then held the post of organist at the Théatins church in Paris. He also served as violinist and keyboard musician with the Paris Opéra orch. (1714–34). As a composer, he was best known for his opera- ballet Ajax (Paris, April 30, 1716).
