Berger, Theodor, Austrian composer; b. Traismauer an der Donau, May 18, 1905; d. Vienna, Aug. 21, 1992. He was a pupil of Korngold and Schmidt at the Vienna Academy of Music (1926–32). Under the influence of his teachers, he evolved a new Romantic style of composition.
