Barroso Neto, Joaquim Antonio
Barroso Neto, Joaquim Antonio, Brazilian teacher and composer; b. Rio de Janeiro, Jan. 30, 1881; d. there, Sept. 1, 1941. He was a pupil of Braga and Nepomuceno, and later acquired a fine reputation as a teacher. He wrote mainly piano pieces in a mildly Romantic manner.
