Aspestrand, Sigwart, Norwegian composer; b. Fredrikshald, Nov. 13, 1856; d. Oslo, Dec. 31, 1941. He studied in Leipzig and Berlin. He composed 7 operas, the most successful of which was Die Seemansbraut (Gotha, March 29, 1894).
