Alferaki, Achilles

Alferaki, Achilles, Russian composer of Greek descent; b. Kharkov, July 3, 1846; d. Petrograd, Dec. 27, 1919. He studied philology at the Univ. of Moscow and received training in piano and music theory. He wrote the opera St. John’s Eve, as well as numerous piano pieces and songs.
