A Rather English Marriage ★★½ 1998
Aging Reggie (Finney) and Roy (Courtenay) meet in a hospital waiting room after their wives have just died. The odd couple (Reggie is blustery exmilitary while Roy was a milk man) are further thrown together when a social worker suggests that both should share Reggie's house to help with chores and expenses (and neither man is used to living alone). The rest of the subdued dra ma is their adjustment to each other and their new situations with flashbacks to their younger selves. Based on the novel by Angela Carter.
