Chan stars (and writes and directs) as a bumpkin who saves the life of a mob boss and is thrust into the world of crime in 1930s Hong Kong. He gets some social help from a mysterious woman that gives him the confidence to romance nightclub singer Mui. But when his mob patron is murdered, Chan decides he has to show his loyalty by seeking justice. Humor and action turn out to be a winning combo. 106m/C VHS, DVD .
