Max Keeble's Big Move ★★ 2001 (PG)

Max (Linz), a kid on the verge of entering seventh grade, decides that he must change his image to be a little cooler, much to the dismay of his pals Megan (Grey) and Robe (Peck). On the first day of school, however, he is confronted with two bullies, a fussy principal (Miller) who wants to tear down an animal shelter that Max loves, and a renegade ice cream man. Max's dad comes home and announces that the family is moving to Chicago. Thinking that he can avoid the consequences by moving out of town, Max hatches numerous messy plots to get back at everyone who's tormenting him. After Max has taken revenge, dad reveals that the family is staying put after all, leaving Max to face the music. Not very original, but the kids will get a kick out of the food fight scene. 101m/C VHS, DVD . US Alex D.
