Marriage Italian Style ★★★1964

When an engaged man hears that his mistress is on her death bed, he goes to her side and, in an emotional gesture, promises to marry her if she survives. She does, and holds him to his promise. After they're married, however, she gives him a big surprise—three grown sons. A silly film, but DeSica's direction keeps it from being too fluffy. Lots of fun. Based on the play “Filumena Marturano” by Eduardo De Filippo. 102m/C VHS, DVD . IT Sophia Loren, Marcello Mastroianni, Aldo Puglisi, Tecla Scarano, Marilu Tolo; D: Vittorio De Sica. Golden Globes ‘65: Foreign Film.
