March or Die
March or Die ★★½ 1977 (PG)
Great potential, unrealized. An American joins the French Foreign Legion during WWI after his dismissal from West Point. Following the brutality of training, he is assigned to guard an archeological expedition in Morocco, where he pulls together a rag-tag outfit for the mission. Hackman proves once again the wide range of his acting abilities, surmounting the cliched and fairly sadistic plot. Shot on location in the Sahara Desert. 104m/C VHS, DVD . GB Gene Hackman, Terence Hill, Max von Sydow, Catherine Deneuve, Ian Holm; D: Dick Richards; W: David Zelag Goodman; M: Maurice Jarre.
