Alix of Vergy (r. 1248–c. 1290)

Countess, ruler of Burgundy. Name variations: Alix de Vergy. Born in 1248; died sometime before 1290; daughter of Count Otto II, count of Burgundy, and Countess Beatrix (daughter of Count Otto I); sister of Otto III, count of Burgundy; married Hugh of Chalon; children: son Otto IV (d. 1302).

Alix of Vergy inherited Burgundy (presentday Eastern France) in 1248 upon the death of her brother Otto III. She ruled for over 40 years.
