American author and social leader. Name variations: Mrs. Roger Pryor. Born Feb 19, 1830, in Halifax Co., Virginia; died 1912; attended a female seminary in Charlottesville, Virginia; m. Roger Atkinson Pryor (lawyer, member of New York Supreme Court, and US congressional representative); children: 7.
Founded the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution and was a charter member of the Colonial Dames of America; frequently contributed articles to magazines.
