Canadian first lady. Born Maryon Elspeth Moody, 1901, in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada; died Dec 26, 1989; m. Lester Bowles Pearson (prime minister of Canada, 1963–68), Aug 22, 1925 (div. Dec 27, 1972); children: Geoffrey A.H. Pearson (b. 1927, who m. Landon Carter Pearson, Canadian senator), Patricia Lillian Pearson (b. 1929).
Honorary chair of the board of trustees of Lester B. Pearson College (1973–89); once said, "Behind every successful man is a surprised woman."
