Scottish runner. Name variations: Liz McColgan. Born Elizabeth McColgan, May 24, 1964, in Dundee, Scotland.
At Commonwealth Games, won gold medals for 10,000 meters (1986, 1990) and 3,000 meters (1990); at Seoul Olympics, won a silver medal in the 10,000 meters (1988); won the Tokyo and NY Marathon (1991) and London Marathon (1996). Named Member of the British Empire (MBE).
