Lefanu, Nicola (1947–)
English composer. Born 1947; dau. of Elizabeth Maconchy (1907–1994, composer) and William Lefanu; studied at Oxford University, Royal College of Music, with Maxwell Davies at Dartington, and in Siena.
Lecturer at King's College, London; compositions, including Antiworld (1972) and Dawnpath (1977), earned many awards, as did her radiophonic operas, The Story of Mary O'Neill (1986) and Wind Among the Pines: Five Images of Norfolk (1987).
