Jungmann, Elisabeth (d. 1959)
German-born author and literary figure. Name variations: Elizabeth Jungmann; Lady Beerbohm. Died in 1959; m. Sir Max Beerbohm (critic and essayist), 1956 (died 1956).
Served as secretary to Gerhart Hauptmann (1922–34); left Germany as a "non-Aryan"; worked with Rudolf Binding; immigrated to England (1938); married Max Beerbohm one month before his death, having looked after him for many years following the death of his first wife, Florence Kahn.
