Jeanneret, Marie (d. 1884)

Swiss poisoner. Died 1884.

Nurse who poisoned her clients, 1st killed a friend named Berthet (1866); used atropine, morphine, and antimony to poison possibly as many as 30 people; arrested after a physician reported his suspicions about her to authorities; convicted of 7 murders but won sympathy of jury and received only 20-year sentence.
