Irish politician. Born Mary Furlong, April 1943 in Cappawhite, Co. Tipperary, Ireland; dau. of George Furlong (politician); m. Nicholas Jackman.
Representing Fine Gael, elected to the Seanad from the Labour Panel: Nominating Bodies Sub-Panel (1989–93, 1997–2002), the 1st woman senator from Limerick; became the 1st woman Cathaoirleach of Limerick County Council in its 100-year history (1998).
