Born May 2 or 3, 1896, in Athens, Greece; died Nov 28, 1982, in Lausanne, Switzerland; eldest dau. of Constantine I, king of Greece (r. 1913–1917, 1920–1922), and Sophie of Prussia (1870–1932); sister of George II, king of the Hellenes; m. Carol II (1893–1953), crown prince, then king of Romania (r. 1930–1940), Mar 10, 1921 (div., June 21, 1928); children: Michael (b. Oct 25, 1921), king of Romania (r. 1927–1930, 1940–1947).
