Fermor, Arabella (d. 1738)

English aristocrat who was the subject of "The Rape of the Lock." Name variations: Arabella Perkins. Died in 1738; daughter of James Fermor of Tusmore; married Frances Perkins of Ufton Court, near Reading.

Arabella Fermor became the subject of "The Rape of the Lock," a poem by Alexander Pope, when a lock of her hair was stolen by Lord Petre.
